Funding has been granted to Swansea University to build an office that generates more energy that what it uses.
This will be the first UK energy positive office. The office will be manufactured from cutting edge off site manufacturing techniques and innovative energy harvesting, storage and release technologies. It is expected to be completed in 2018.
The finished office, known as Active Office, will be occupied by up to 40 staff. It will be linked to its Active Classroom building which is an existing space that provides teaching space and a laboratory for Swansea University Students.
