A tender race is set to start in Spring 2018 for a £35m contract to transform the Old Lampworks site in South Wimbledon.
Purchasers of the site, Clarion Housing Group, have great plans to regenerate the site which will boost housing across the borough. Earlier this year, Merton Council granted planning permission for 134 homes to be built on the land.
In April, Clarion Housing Group submitted outline planning for 2,800 new homes across High Park and the two neighbourhoods in Mitcham, Eastfields and Ravensbury. Under the proposals, Clarion will redevelop these estates and rehouse all existing tenants and resident homeowners who wish to remain.
