The e.PUMP PROFI is a battery-powered pump head designed as a direct-fit upgrade for compatible plastic pressure sprayers. What is the difference between the FPM and EPDM versions of the e.PUMP PROFI?

The two versions differ only in seal material. FPM (also known by the Viton brand name) is a fluoropolymer elastomer that offers resistance to a wide range of oils, fuels, agrochemicals and industrial fluids, making it the preferred choice for plant protection, formwork oils and most construction chemical applications. EPDM is better suited to water-based formulations, certain cleaning agents and applications where FPM-incompatible fluid chemistry is involved. If you are unsure which seal type your application requires, check the SDS of the product being sprayed and match its chemical compatibility requirements against the seal specification.

Can the e.PUMP PROFI be used with any pressure sprayer, or only MESTO sprayers?

The e.PUMP PROFI is designed to fit compatible MESTO plastic pressure sprayer tanks via a threaded connection. It is not a universal pump and will not fit non-MESTO sprayer tanks or MESTO stainless steel sprayers. The compatible ranges for the FPM version  are listed in the compatibility table above. How does the automatic pressure control work in practice?

When the pump is switched on and the tank is pressurised, the motor automatically cycles to maintain working pressure at 2.2 bar throughout the session. When the lance is closed and pressure in the tank holds at the target level, the motor stops. When the lance is opened and pressure drops, the motor restarts. This cycle continues without any operator input. The practical result is consistent spray pressure throughout the session, identical to the first spray from a freshly manually pumped tank, sustained for the full 90-minute battery runtime.

Can the pump be used outdoors in wet conditions?

The e.PUMP PROFI is designed for outdoor professional use. However, the pump head and USB-C charging port must be dry before use and before charging. The lithium battery must be charged indoors and must not be charged in outdoor or wet conditions. The pump should be kept at least 1.5 metres from ignition sources during use and storage. It must not be left under pressure or in direct sunlight when not in use.

What maintenance does the pump require?

After each use, depressurise the tank, unscrew the pump head, rinse the pump with clean water and store in a cool, dry location. Never leave liquid in the pump. For storage periods longer than a few days, ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the off position and the battery is fully charged. If the pump will not be used for an extended period, recharge the battery at least every six months to prevent battery degradation. Beyond this, no routine maintenance is required by the operator; all repair work must be handled by an authorised MESTO service centre.
