MAX Industrial Hand Cleaning Wipes are a waterless dual-sided cleaning solution developed for UK tradespeople and industrial workers who encounter heavy contamination and have no reliable access to running water. Standard wet wipes spread grease rather than lift it, and harsh solvent cleaners leave skin in poor condition after repeated use. The MAX wipe addresses both problems through its dual-sided construction: the beaded surface applies physical abrasion to break up in-ground contaminants, while the smooth reverse side wipes residue away cleanly without smearing.
At 20cm x 30cm, each wipe is large enough for a complete hand clean, a tool wipe-down or a surface clean in a single sheet. The formula combines natural solvents effective against oil, grease, tar, silicon, paint and adhesives with glycerol emollients that condition the skin, maintaining hand health through repeated daily use. The skin-compatible pH of 5.5–6.5 reflects a formula designed for frequent contact. The smart dispensing tub keeps unused wipes sealed and dispenses one at a time, practical for mid-task use without contaminating the remaining supply.
The 150-wipe tub is part of the CMT ThinkGreen programme. Each tub includes a free bag of wildflower seeds, transforming the empty container into a biodiversity planting bucket. Exclusive to CMT Group.
✓ Dual-sided wipe combines beaded scrubbing surface for physical grime removal with smooth finish side for a clean, residue-free result in a single wipe
✓ Waterless formula designed for use without running water, practical for van-based trades, outdoor sites and locations without welfare facilities
✓ Removes heavy workshop and site contaminants including in-ground grease, oil, tar, silicon, latex paint and adhesives from both skin and surfaces
✓ Glycerol emollients in the pH 5.5–6.5 formula condition the skin after cleaning, unlike solvent-only industrial cleaners that leave hands cracked after repeated use
✓ Each wipe measures 20cm x 30cm, large enough to clean both hands, wipe down a tool or clean a surface in a single sheet
✓ Smart flip-top dispensing tub delivers one wipe at a time with one hand, keeping remaining wipes sealed and moist between uses
✓ CMT ThinkGreen biodiversity initiative: the 150-wipe tub includes wildflower seeds so the empty container becomes a planting bucket rather than landfill

Suitable for removing:
oil, engine grease, tar, silicon, latex paint, adhesives, grime, ink, carbon and general workshop and site dirt from hands, tools and hard surfaces.
How to use:
Open the flip-top lid and pull one wipe from the centre of the roll. Use the beaded side to scrub the affected area, applying light pressure to lift contaminants. Turn to the smooth side to wipe away residue. Reseal the lid after each use to keep remaining wipes moist. Dispose of used wipes responsibly in accordance with local waste collection guidance; do not flush.
Precautions, read before use:
The formula contains ethanol and is classified as a flammable liquid and vapour. Keep away from naked flames, sparks and all ignition sources during use and storage. Store in a cool, well-ventilated place with the container tightly closed.
The formula carries H319 (causes serious eye irritation). Avoid contact with eyes during use.
IF IN EYES: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. For external use on skin and hard surfaces only. If skin irritation develops, discontinue use. Do not use on painted surfaces where solvent contact may cause damage; test on a small area first. Not regulated for transport under ADR, IMDG or IATA. Not considered harmful to aquatic organisms under normal conditions of use; avoid release to the environment.
What makes these wipes different from standard wet wipes or soap?
Standard wet wipes are designed for light surface cleaning and lack the solvents or physical abrasion needed to shift in-ground workshop contaminants. Soap requires running water and does not effectively dissolve tar, silicon or cured adhesives. The MAX wipe combines a beaded physical scrubbing surface with industrial-grade natural solvents including ethoxylated alcohols and ethanol, removing contaminants that neither standard wipes nor hand soap can address, while the glycerol emollient formula maintains skin condition through repeated daily use.
Are these wipes genuinely waterless?
The formula is designed for use without running water. No rinsing is required following normal skin contact use. However, if the formula contacts the eyes, the first aid procedure requires rinsing with water for several minutes. Keep water accessible when using any industrial cleaning product in environments where eye contact is a risk. For all other use on skin, tools and surfaces, no water source is required.
Can these be used on tools and surfaces as well as hands?
Yes. The 20cm x 30cm wipe size is practical for cleaning tools, components and hard surfaces as well as hands. Caution is advised on painted surfaces as the solvent content may affect some finishes; test on a small area before full application. Well suited to cleaning metal tools, plastic handles and general workshop surfaces.
Is there a flammability risk with these wipes?
The formula contains ethanol and is classified as a flammable liquid and vapour with a flash point above 65°C. Under normal site and workshop conditions of use this does not present an unusual risk, but the tub should be stored away from naked flames, sparks and heat sources, and kept tightly closed when not in use. Flammable vapours may accumulate inside a closed container; ensure ventilation when opening after storage. Suitable extinguishing media if required: water spray, dry powder, foam or carbon dioxide.
What is the CMT ThinkGreen wildflower seed initiative?
The 150-wipe tub (JLWW200) includes a free bag of wildflower seeds packaged inside the tub. When the wipes are used, the empty tub can be filled with compost and used as a planting bucket for wildflowers, supporting pollinator biodiversity on or around the site. It is part of the CMT ThinkGreen programme, which aims to give construction and trade operations a tangible sustainability contribution through the products they already buy. For procurement teams with ESG reporting requirements or ISO 14001 commitments, it is a documentable environmental action built into standard consumable purchasing.
Which variant should I order for a team or site?
The 150-wipe tub (JLWW200) is the better value option for regular site or workshop use and includes the ThinkGreen wildflower seed bag. The 80-wipe tub (JLWW150) suits smaller teams, individual tradespeople or van stock where tub size and weight are a consideration. Both variants use the same dual-sided wipe formula and smart dispensing lid. Bulk B2B pricing is available through CMT Group; trade accounts can be set up via the EDGE procurement portal.
Why buy industrial hand wipes from CMT Group?
Welfare consumables are high-frequency repeat purchases that most sites treat as a commodity. The MAX wipe is selected for genuine industrial performance: the dual-sided construction and solvent formula address the contaminants actually found on UK construction and automotive sites, and the glycerol emollient formula reflects the reality that operatives use hand cleaning products multiple times per shift. The ThinkGreen biodiversity bucket initiative means the 150-wipe tub generates a sustainability output that procurement teams can record against ESG and ISO 14001 targets at no additional cost.
Founded in 2010 and the UK's largest independent site equipment supplier, CMT Group serves over 11,000 customers across construction and industry. The EDGE procurement portal allows site managers to set approved product lists, budget limits by site and approval workflows for consumable purchasing, removing unauthorised substitution of cheaper, less effective alternatives that drives up real per-use costs across large operations.
