MAX Antibacterial Hand Wipes are an alcohol-free and paraben-free disinfectant wipe developed for UK site environments where hygiene compliance and skin health are both daily operational requirements. The antibacterial active is chlorhexidine digluconate at 0.25%, a well-established clinical-grade antiseptic effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria. Unlike alcohol-based wipes that achieve disinfection through solvent action and dehydrate the skin with repeated use, the chlorhexidine formula works without alcohol, leaving skin clean and conditioned rather than cracked and irritated.

The non-staining formula makes these wipes suitable beyond hand hygiene. Shared machinery cab interiors, touchscreens, radios, shared tools and welfare surfaces can all be wiped down without risk of chemical damage, discolouration or residue. This dual hand and surface capability, combined with the 120-wipe high-capacity pack format, makes them a practical bulk hygiene solution for construction sites, plant hire operations, facility management teams and any environment where multiple operatives share equipment or welfare facilities throughout the day.

 Avoid eye contact during use.

✓ Chlorhexidine digluconate at 0.25% provides clinical-grade antibacterial efficacy, the same active used in medical and surgical hygiene environments

✓ Completely alcohol-free and paraben-free, eliminating the skin drying, cracking and dermatitis complaints caused by repeated alcohol-based wipe use across a workforce

✓ Non-staining formula is safe for use on clothing, machinery cab interiors, shared electronic devices, radios and site instrumentation without chemical damage or residue

✓ pH 5–6.5 skin-compatible formula with glycerol-based surfactants that clean without stripping the skin's natural barrier

✓ 120 wipes per resealable pack provides high-capacity hygiene for busy site welfare stations and shared tool points without constant restocking

✓ Not flammable and not regulated for transport under ADR, IMDG or IATA, simplifying van and site storage compliance

How to use:

Remove one wipe from the pack and wipe the hands or surface thoroughly. Allow to air dry. Reseal the pack after each use to prevent drying out. No rinsing required for normal hand use.

Precautionsو read before use:

H319: Causes serious eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes.

IF IN EYES: rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, get medical advice or attention.

Keep out of reach of children. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Store in a cool, well-ventilated place with the container tightly closed.

Do not discharge to drains, watercourses or onto the ground; chlorhexidine digluconate carries acute and chronic aquatic toxicity.

Dispose of used wipes and empty packs to a hazardous or special waste collection point in accordance with local waste disposal authority requirements; do not flush.

What makes chlorhexidine digluconate different from alcohol as an antibacterial active?

Alcohol-based wipes kill bacteria through solvent dehydration, which also strips oils from the skin and causes drying and cracking with repeated use. Chlorhexidine digluconate is a cationic antiseptic that disrupts bacterial cell membranes and is effective against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is the active used in surgical hand scrubs and clinical surface disinfection, and it achieves reliable antibacterial action without the skin-drying effect of ethanol. For workforces using disinfectant wipes multiple times per shift, the difference in skin condition over a working week is significant.

Are these safe to use on screens, radios and electronic devices?

Yes. The non-staining, alcohol-free formula does not carry the solvent risk that makes alcohol-based wipes damaging to plastic screens, rubber seals, painted surfaces and fabric interiors. They are suitable for wiping shared electronic devices, site radios, vehicle cab interiors and machinery controls without causing discolouration, residue or chemical degradation. Always allow surfaces to air dry before operating touchscreens or buttons.

Why does the disposal guidance say hazardous waste collection point?

The formula contains chlorhexidine digluconate, which carries acute and chronic aquatic toxicity classifications under CLP Regulation. This means used wipes and empty packs must not be disposed of in general waste streams that could reach watercourses, and must not be flushed. The SDS requires disposal to a licensed hazardous or special waste collection point in accordance with local Waste Disposal Authority requirements. For site managers, this means used wipes should go into a designated chemical waste stream rather than general site waste.

Can these be used in food handling environments?

The alcohol-free and paraben-free formula makes these suitable for consideration in food handling environments where alcohol-based products are unsuitable, particularly where skin contact with food is involved or where alcohol residue on surfaces is a concern. However, suitability for specific food safety applications must be confirmed against the relevant HACCP assessment and local food safety management requirements. The SDS identifies the product as a cosmetic hand cleanser for professional and industrial use.

How does the 120-wipe pack format support site hygiene management?

The 120-wipe resealable pack provides significantly more uses per unit than standard 80-count formats, reducing the frequency of restocking at welfare stations, shared tool points and machinery cleaning stations. For site managers ordering through the EDGE procurement portal, the higher count per pack reduces both the number of individual units required per site per week and the associated delivery and handling overhead. Bulk B2B pricing is available for volume orders through CMT Group trade accounts.

Why buy antibacterial wipes from CMT Group?

Skin health is a compliance and productivity issue that is consistently underestimated in site welfare planning. Dermatitis caused by repeated use of alcohol-based wipes results in operative discomfort, reduced productivity and potential HSE reporting obligations under RIDDOR if skin conditions become severe. Specifying an alcohol-free chlorhexidine-based wipe at the procurement stage prevents the problem entirely rather than managing it after the fact.

Founded in 2010 and the UK's largest independent site equipment supplier, CMT Group serves over 11,000 customers across construction and industry. The EDGE procurement portal allows H&S and facilities managers to specify approved hygiene products by site, preventing operative substitution of unsuitable alternatives and giving procurement teams full spend visibility across every location.
