The Ultragrime PRO 5920 Power Scrub Clothwipes are industrial-grade dual-textured cleaning wipes designed for professional contractors, automotive technicians, maintenance teams and industrial operatives across UK construction, manufacturing, vehicle repair and heavy industry sectors. These wipes are formulated to remove stubborn trade contaminants, including grease, paint, silicone sealant, uncured PU foam, adhesives and ink from hands, tools, equipment and work surfaces where standard cleaning wipes lack sufficient mechanical action.

Manufactured in the UK from durable white dual-textured non-woven fabric impregnated with a clear liquid cleaning mixture, these wipes feature an abrasive scrubbing side for breaking down dried and caked-on grime, and a smooth side for finishing and general wiping. The wipes resist tearing during aggressive cleaning tasks and maintain effective moisture levels for over an hour after removal from the pack. The alcohol-free formulation includes aloe vera and vitamin E to prevent skin drying during repeated use throughout working shifts, making them suitable for operatives working with heavily soiled hands where welfare facilities are limited. Classified as a cosmetic product under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, the wipes are non-hazardous and dermatologically tested.

These wipes are suitable for heavy-duty cleaning applications in automotive workshops, construction sites, vehicle maintenance facilities, manufacturing environments and engineering operations. They are not suitable as a substitute for proper hand hygiene with soap and water after high-risk contamination, nor for cleaning food preparation surfaces or medical equipment.

Abrasive textured surface provides mechanical scrubbing action to break down dried paint, cured grease and stubborn industrial grime without requiring harsh chemical solvents

✓ Dual-sided design allows operatives to aggressively scrub with the rough side, then finish with the smooth side in a single wipe, reducing consumption and improving cleaning efficiency

✓ Extended moisture retention eliminates the frustration of wipes drying out mid-task, maintaining cleaning performance across longer site activities without requiring pack resealing

✓ Non-woven fabric structure provides mechanical strength for aggressive scrubbing of stubborn residues without disintegrating, unlike paper-based alternatives that shred under force

✓ Skin-safe formulation allows repeated use throughout shifts without causing dermatological irritation, reducing the risk of contact dermatitis common with harsh solvent-based cleaners

Non-flammable composition ensures safe storage and use in environments where ignition sources are present, including hot works areas, vehicle workshops and welding bays

Safe on multiple surface types including metals, plastics, painted finishes, tools and machinery when tested first, preventing damage to equipment during cleaning operations

3-in-1 action lifts contaminants from surfaces, cleans the substrate, and leaves a protective barrier in a single application

Water-like viscosity ensures even distribution of cleaning solution throughout the fabric for consistent performance across the entire wipe surface

*Test surface compatibility before first use. Abrasive side may mark delicate or polished finishes – use smooth side only on sensitive surfaces.

Usage Guide:

Before Use

Check wipe pack is sealed and product has not dried out before commencing work. Test surface compatibility before first use on sensitive or unknown materials, particularly painted or polished finishes where the abrasive side may cause surface marking. Ensure adequate ventilation if using in enclosed spaces. Wear appropriate PPE for the contaminant being removed, not just for the wipe itself. Keep product out of reach of children.

During Use

Unfold wipe fully to utilise maximum surface area. For stubborn contaminants, use the abrasive textured side with moderate to firm pressure and circular scrubbing motions to break down grime. Rotate wipe to expose clean abrasive sections as contaminated areas become saturated. Once heavy contamination is lifted, flip to the smooth side for final wipe-down and surface finishing. For lighter soiling, use the smooth side throughout. For heavy soiling, use multiple wipes rather than overloading a single wipe. Reseal pack immediately after removing wipe to prevent remaining stock from drying out. Avoid contact with eyes during use. Do not use the abrasive side on delicate surfaces without testing first.

After Use

Dispose of used wipes in appropriate waste streams according to the contaminant removed. Clean wipes may be disposed of with household waste going to landfill. Do not flush wipes into sanitary systems or drains. Wash hands with soap and water after completing cleaning tasks, even when using skin-safe wipes. Store remaining pack in original container with lid closed, away from direct sunlight and heat sources at 5–35°C.

When should I use the abrasive side versus the smooth side of the wipe?

Use the abrasive textured side for stubborn, dried-on or caked contaminants that resist standard wiping action, such as dried paint, heavy grease buildup, cured silicone residue or industrial grime. Apply moderate to firm pressure with circular scrubbing motions to break down the contaminant. Once the heavy soiling is lifted, flip to the smooth side for final cleaning and surface finishing. For lighter soiling, fresh paint or general hand cleaning, the smooth side alone may be sufficient. Always test the abrasive side on delicate surfaces first to avoid unintended marking or scratching.

Are these wipes safe to use on skin multiple times per day despite the abrasive texture?

Yes. The Ultragrime PRO 5920 wipes are classified as a cosmetic product under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and are dermatologically tested. The abrasive texture is designed for mechanical cleaning action on contaminants, not for aggressive skin abrasion. The pH-balanced formula (4.5–6.5) and alcohol-free composition with aloe vera and vitamin E make them suitable for repeated use during working shifts. However, avoid excessive scrubbing pressure directly on skin, and operatives should still wash hands with soap and water after completing work, particularly before eating or smoking.

What is the difference between the 5920 Power Scrub and the 5900 Multi-Use wipes?

The 5920 Power Scrub features dual-textured fabric with an abrasive scrubbing side and smooth finishing side, making it more effective for stubborn, dried-on or heavy industrial contaminants. The 5900 Multi-Use has a standard non-woven cloth texture throughout and is better suited for general-purpose cleaning of fresh contaminants. Both share the same stay-wet technology, skin-safe formulation and non-hazardous classification. The 5920 contains 80 wipes per pack while the 5900 contains 100 wipes. Choose 5920 for automotive workshops, heavy industry and applications requiring aggressive mechanical scrubbing action.

What is the shelf life and how should unused packs be stored?

Store sealed packs in a cool, dry location at 5–35°C, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The product should be stored in its original container with the lid closed. While a specific shelf life is not stated on the SDS, proper storage will maintain product effectiveness. Once opened, reseal the pack immediately after each use to prevent the remaining wipes from drying out, as moisture retention is critical to cleaning performance and abrasive effectiveness.

Can the abrasive side damage tools, machinery or painted surfaces?

The abrasive texture is designed for cleaning contaminants, not for aggressive surface abrasion of hard materials like metals or tools. However, it may mark or scratch delicate surfaces including polished finishes, soft plastics, painted surfaces with poor adhesion, or coatings with low abrasion resistance. Always test surface compatibility before first use on unknown materials. For sensitive surfaces, use the smooth side only. The wipes are safe on most industrial metals, tools, machinery and robust painted finishes when used with appropriate pressure.

Are the wipes flammable and can they be used in vehicle workshops with ignition sources?

No, the wipes are classified as non-flammable. This makes them safer than solvent-based alternatives for use in environments where ignition sources are present, including automotive workshops, welding bays and hot works areas. The product is not classified as dangerous goods for transport purposes. However, used wipes contaminated with flammable substances (petrol, solvents, oils) should still be disposed of safely according to site waste management procedures and kept away from ignition sources during use.

What waste classification applies to used wipes for disposal purposes?

According to the SDS, clean or lightly soiled wipes may be disposed of with household waste going to landfill. However, wipes contaminated with hazardous substances (automotive fluids containing heavy metals, chemical adhesives, petroleum-based products) must be disposed of according to applicable local legislation and the nature of the contaminant. Do not flush wipes into sanitary systems or drains under any circumstances. Vehicle workshops and industrial facilities should consult their site-specific waste management plan for contaminated wipes and follow the Hazardous Waste Regulations where applicable.
