Asphalt Diamond Blade – Super Premium – 10mm Segment – Undercut Protected – OTEC D20B is developed for professional use on UK highways, roadworks, and infrastructure projects where asphalt and highly abrasive materials are the primary cutting challenge.
It is intended for contractors and site operatives cutting asphalt, green concrete, screed, render, lignacite blocks, and abrasive concrete products. The wedge undercut protection helps reduce steel core erosion when cutting abrasive surfaces, supporting stable cutting behaviour and improved usable blade life under demanding site conditions.
The D20B is not suitable for metal, very hard materials, general purpose masonry, or reinforced concrete. It should be specified specifically for asphalt-led and highly abrasive applications.
Things to consider: Always use personal protective equipment to ensure safety for you and others.

Before use
Ensure the blade specification is suitable for the material being cut. Inspect for cracking, segment detachment, undercutting of the steel core, uneven wear, or other defects. Confirm correct rotation direction and bore compatibility with the machine spindle. Wear appropriate PPE and ensure machine guards are fitted correctly.
During use
Do not apply excessive force. Allow the blade to cut at its designed speed and take regular cooling breaks. If overheating occurs, reassess material suitability. A blunt blade may be refreshed by cutting a soft abrasive material such as brick or block. Ensure the material is securely positioned and regularly inspect the blade for signs of damage.
Wet cutting
If wet cutting is used, ensure a continuous and adequate water supply is applied to both sides of the blade.
Is the D20B suitable for asphalt cutting?
Yes. The D20B is specifically developed for asphalt and highly abrasive materials commonly encountered on UK highways and roadworks.
Can this blade be used on green or newly laid concrete?
Yes. Green concrete and similar abrasive materials fall within the intended application range of the D20B.
Is the D20B suitable for reinforced concrete?
No. This blade is not designed for reinforced or hard unabrasive concrete and should not be specified for structural concrete cutting.
Can the D20B be used for metal cutting?
No. The D20B is not suitable for exposed steel, rebar, sheet metal, or other metal products.
What does “undercut protected” mean?
Undercut protection helps reduce erosion of the steel core when cutting highly abrasive materials, supporting more predictable blade life and improved cutting stability.
Is this blade compliant with UK safety standards?
Yes. The D20B is manufactured in accordance with EN13236, the recognised safety standard for diamond blades used on UK construction sites.
Which machines can the D20B be used with?
Depending on blade diameter and bore, the D20B is suitable for petrol cut-off saws and floor saws, provided maximum RPM limits are respected.
