The Construction Skills Network report from the CITB is predicting growth of 1.7% over the next five year. This is equating to around 179,000 new jobs in the construction industry and is set to top the 2.6 million mark. It should be noted that these positive figures depend upon three large projects: Hinkley Point C, Wylfa Newydd Nuclear Power Stations and High Speed 2.
Infrastructure provides the largest growth of 45% from 2017-2021, followed by private house building as the second best performing sector with average annual increases of 2.2%. Carpenters, electricians &insulators, process managers and a range of IT and other technical workers will benefit from these vacancies.
