Health & Safety Statement 

CMT Equipment Ltd is fully committed to protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of all employees, contractors, visitors and others who may be affected by our business activities.

We aim to provide and maintain a safe and healthly working environment by preventing work-related injury and ill health, including risks associated with stress and other psychosocial factor.

CMT Group is committed to complying with all applicable UK health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc, Act 1974, and to continually improving our health and safety performance. Where appropriate, we align our systems and processes with the principles of ISO 45001.

Our primary objectives are to eliminate hazards where reasonably practicable, reduce occupational health and safety risks, and actively involve our workforce in creating a safe working environment. 

 

Our Commitment

CMT Group will ensure that:

 

  • The Board and senior management demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to health and safety, ensuring standards are not compromised.
  • Adequate resources are provided, including competent personnel, training, supervision and time, to maintain and improve health and safety performance
  • A systematic approach to risk management is implemented, including risk assessments, audits and the application of the hierarchy of controls
  • Employees are encouraged and empowered to participate in hazard identification, report unsafe conditions and contribute ideas for improving health and safety
  • Contractors and visitors do not access CMT premises until relevant risk assessments, method statements and site induction requirements have been met
  • Emergency arrangements are in place, including fire drills, trained response personnel and appropriate emergency equipment such as spill kits and emergency stop controls
  • All accidents, incidents and near misses are reported promptly, investigated proportionately and managed in accordance with RIDDOR where applicable, with corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence
  • A positive health and safety culture is promoted through teamwork, accountability and engagement at all levels of the organisation


This Health and Safety Policy Statement will be communicated to all employees, contractors and relevant supply chain partners. It will be made available through site notice boards and internal communication systems and will be reviewed regularly to ensure its continued suitability and effectiveness.
