In a bid to strengthen its position in the utilities and infrastructure sector, Kier has bought McNicholas Construction in a rumoured £15-20m deal. This move will make Kier one of the leading UK utility services contractors.
McNicholas employs nearly 2,000 staff with clients that include Virgin Media, Network Rail and UK Power Networks. McNicholas, who has a turnover of £180m, has its headquarters in Elstree.
