Pink Protection Introduction

Pink Protection Introduction
Posted in: CMT Group Blog
Back in October, CMT proudly announced an exciting partnership with Breast Cancer Now. Charities have certainly struggled in recent times. Many organisations are struggling to stay afloat, public health services reaching breaking point; a double blow for individuals suffering from the ill effects of Breast Cancer. Right now, an estimated 600,000 people are living with a breast cancer diagnosis in the UK alone, and every year over 11,500 lives are lost to the disease. Statistics show that one woman every 10 minutes is diagnosed with Breast Cancer, compared to one Man every day. Unfortunately, if nothing changes, this will rise to one woman every eight minutes by 2030. By 2050, Breast Cancer Now has the ambition to support those diagnosed with breast cancer, allowing them to live and be supported throughout the journey. This heroic vision has inspired CMT's partnership. As a business, their movement is merely extraordinary. We are determined to help support this; turning that ambition into a reality. The aim, raise £1million for Breast Cancer Now, helping them achieve world-class research and life-changing facilities. Raising awareness is crucial. Taking advantage of our state-of-the-art UK manufacturing facilities, we're able to develop an iconic Pink Face Mask. We hope this product offering alongside informing the public about the issues associated with breast cancer we can have real success in reaching our goals! We intend to distribute these pink face masks everywhere and anywhere – we want to get people talking. What better way than visually projecting the message! Sarah Canniford, Head of Corporate partnerships at Breast Cancer Now said: "We are thrilled to be working with CMT. Their generous fundraising will help to fund world-class research and life-changing care, creating support for today and hope for the future. "As the UK's first comprehensive breast cancer charity, we are here to support anyone affected by this devastating disease. Our work is needed now more than ever, so a huge thank you to CMT's staff and customers - your support will help us to continue to be there for people affected by breast cancer now and in the future". We understand the impacts single-use masks are having on the environment. Studies suggest that if reusable masks are not washed after each use, their reliability diminishes drastically. 'Ecobricking' is a concept that looks to abolish the idea of waste from an individual's mind. Any recyclable materials capable of being stuffed into plastic bottles now have a new lease of life. However, these innovative ideas are only useful if the eco-brick reaches a certain weight. CMT has partnered with Global Ecobrick Alliance providing them with a platform to build awareness, whilst also informing individuals of the best practices when making Ecobricks. With breast screening backlogs and fundraising events cancelled. Now more than ever, Breast Cancer Now need your support - pick pink this month!
