In Zimbabwe, around 40% of children currently attend secondary school. Compared to here in Britain where attending school is compulsory, this is an incredibly low figure.
Bulawayo, is the second largest city in Zimbabwe and has been badly affected by the economic crisis. Many children have been forced to work and help their families to earn enough to survive. Many jobs are dangerous with high risk of disease or injury.
As part of ongoing projects throughout Zimbabwe, raising awareness of the importance of children’s education has seen more attending local nurseries and schools.
When we were given the chance to help by providing some supplies we jumped at the chance! We gave one of our customers, as part of a school management team working with the church in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe a number of pens and CMT printed footballs to give the children a chance to play as well as learn.
