The last offsite unit in Europe’s tallest modular tower has now been lifted into place at Wembley in London. The 29-storey student accommodation scheme, development by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems, has been completed in a fast-track time of 12 months.
The project at Apex House has seen 679 modules being ‘lifted and fitted’ over a 13-week period to reach a height of 90m. There are over 580 rooms ready for students to move into in September 2017. The development also includes communal facilities such as a cinema and outdoor courtyard.
Each of the Modules were manufactured at Vision’s factory in Bedford where the furniture, windows, electrical wiring and plumbing are all installed.
