PAK Spray Tar Detector 500ml

PAK Detector is an aerosol paint that allows the identification of the presence of tar on road surfaces by the detection of PAH compounds (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). Allows for the rapid determination of bituminous materials e.g. Asphalt.

The PAK Detector can identify PAHs in tars above 100ppm. It is not an official measurement but only an indication of the presence of tar in the asphalt or other bituminous materials.

Once sprayed on the surface in question and allowed to dry for approximately 15 minutes, this white marking paint contains a specific solvent which dissolves any potential PAHs, changing the colour of the paint to yellow, allowing the user to identify the presence of PAH in tar levels of 100 ppm and above.

1. Use head down
2. Spray a thin layer on the surface to be treated
3. Let it dry (approximately 15 minutes)
4. After use, purge head up
5. If PAHs are present, the white surface will turn yellow/brown  - if in doubt you can use a UV light which will highlight colours

Note:

• Store between 15 and 25 degrees celsius away from humidity 
• Can be used between -10 degrees celsius and 50 degrees celsius (do not use outside of this range)
• Keep away from sources of ignition, heat and direct sunlight
• Do not smoke when using
• Do not pierce or burn the aerosol
