Asphalt Diamond Blade – Premium – 8mm Segment – Undercut Protected – 300x20mm – OTEC D20T developed specifically for cutting highly abrasive materials commonly encountered on UK road, highways, and infrastructure projects. It is engineered to deliver controlled, reliable cutting performance where abrasive surfaces accelerate steel core wear.
This blade is designed for professional contractors, highways teams, and groundworks operatives who require predictable wear behaviour and reduced downtime when cutting asphalt, green concrete, render, cement screed, and other abrasive construction materials. The undercut protected segment design helps minimise erosion of the steel core, supporting longer usable blade life in demanding site conditions.
The D20T is not intended for concrete, reinforced concrete, very hard materials, metal, or general-purpose site cutting. It should be specified specifically for asphalt-led applications where abrasive wear is the primary challenge.

Before use:
Ensure the blade type and specification are suitable for the material being cut. Inspect for cracking, segment detachment, undercutting of the steel centre, uneven wear, or other defects. Confirm correct rotation direction and bore compatibility with the machine spindle. Wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection, and ensure guards are correctly fitted.
During use:
Do not apply excessive force. Allow the blade to cut at its designed speed and take regular cooling breaks. If overheating occurs, reassess material suitability. A blunt blade may be refreshed by cutting a soft abrasive material such as brick or block.
Wet cutting:
If wet cutting is used, ensure a continuous and adequate water supply to both sides of the blade.
Is the D20T suitable for concrete cutting?
No. The D20T is designed for asphalt and abrasive materials only and is not suitable for concrete or reinforced concrete.
What does “undercut protected” mean?
Undercut protected segments help reduce wear to the steel core when cutting abrasive materials, improving blade life and stability.
Can this blade be used on green concrete?
Yes. Green concrete and similar abrasive materials fall within the intended application range.
Is this blade suitable for continuous daily use?
The D20T is a Premium-range blade for regular professional use. For continuous daily asphalt cutting, a Professional-range asphalt blade should be specified.
Is the blade compliant for UK construction sites?
Yes. It is manufactured in accordance with EN13236, the recognised safety standard for diamond cutting blades used in the UK.
