MAX PL080004 530W 230v submersible water pumps with integral float switches for pumping water with solids up to 6mm. The pumps are suitable for permanent and semi-permanent installations that do not require the pump to be in constant use. This pump may only be used to move water containing debris up to the rate maximum particle size. The bottom plate enables the pump to drain down to 1mm water level

Never allow the pump to operate if the water level has dropped below the minimum level required by the product as it may cause damage. Ensure that the pump is prepared and positioned correctly before connecting it to main power

  1. Switching the Pump On and Off:
    • Connect the pump to a mains supply via an RCD and switch it on.

    • The integral float switch will turn the pump off when water drops below a certain level. At this point, disconnect from mains power.

    • Some models may run continuously once powered on, ignoring the float switch—switch off manually when needed.

    • A thermal overload feature stops the pump if it overheats. Disconnect from power, let it cool (approx. 20 mins), and investigate the cause. Reconnect once resolved.

    • If it doesn’t restart automatically, disconnect and troubleshoot.

  2. Pumping distance and volume:
    • Maximum horizontal distance and flow rate are affected by head height.

    • "Head" refers to the vertical height between the water surface and the highest point it's pumped to, regardless of hose length.

    • As head height increases, both flow rate and pumping distance decrease

Always ensure that the pump has completely stopped and is disconnected from main power before attempting any product care. Technical maintenance and servicing may only be performed by qualified personnel

  1. General care & storage
    • Periodically flush with clean water, especially after long periods of inactivity or extended use in water.

    • Check and clean the impeller housing regularly to remove debris.

    • If used in debris-heavy water, rinse thoroughly after each use.

    • Wipe the pump exterior with a dry or damp cloth only – avoid solvents or harsh chemicals.

    • Ensure the pump is completely dry before storing.

    • Store away from direct sunlight, frost, and out of children’s reach.

    • For permanent installations, run the pump weekly to prevent motor issues.

CAUTION: Never let water inside the pump freeze – this can cause permanent damage.
