Groundworks & Civil Engineering Multi Purpose Diamond Blade – Professional – 10mm Segment – Undercut Protected – OTEC D18P is developed for professional contractors carrying out UK street works and civil engineering projects where both concrete and asphalt must be cut safely and efficiently using a single blade.
It is intended for cutting flint aggregate concrete, reinforced concrete, kerbs, slabs, concrete paviors, abrasive blocks, green concrete and asphalt surfaces. The undercut protected configuration supports improved wear control when alternating between hard concrete and abrasive materials in trenching and reinstatement works.
The D18P is not suitable for metal cutting and should not be specified for exposed steel, rebar or ductile iron pipe applications.
For these materials we would recommend a blade more specific to those materials. Browse our OTEC diamond blades category.

Before use:
Ensure the blade type and specification are suitable for the material being cut. Inspect the blade for cracking, segment detachment, undercutting of the steel core, uneven wear, or other defects. Confirm correct rotation direction and bore compatibility with the machine spindle. Wear appropriate PPE and ensure guards are correctly fitted.
During use:
Do not apply excessive force when cutting. Allow the blade to cut at its designed speed and take regular cooling breaks. If overheating occurs, reassess material suitability. A blunt blade may be refreshed by cutting a soft abrasive material such as brick or block. Ensure the material being cut is firmly secured and frequently inspect the blade for damage.
Wet cutting:
If wet cutting is used, ensure a continuous and adequate water supply to both sides of the blade.
Is the D18P suitable for both concrete and asphalt?
Yes. It is designed specifically for contractors who need to cut both materials during street works and civil engineering projects.
Can this blade be used on flint aggregate concrete?
Yes. The D18P is suitable for flint aggregate and reinforced concrete commonly encountered in UK groundworks.
Is the D18P suitable for metal cutting?
No. It should not be specified for steel, rebar or ductile iron applications.
What does undercut protection provide?
Undercut protection helps reduce steel core erosion when cutting abrasive materials, improving blade stability and usable life.
Which machines can this blade be used with?
Compatibility depends on diameter and bore. It is suitable for angle grinders, petrol cut-off saws and floor saws within rated speed limits.
Is the blade compliant with UK safety standards?
Yes. The D18P conforms to EN13236 and is engineered for a safe running speed.
