Multi Purpose Diamond Blade – Super Premium – Under Cut Protected – 10mm Segment – EN13236 – OTEC D18 is developed for professional use on UK construction, infrastructure, and civil engineering sites where a wide range of construction materials are encountered.

It is intended for contractors and site operatives working with concrete, reinforced concrete, general construction products such as slabs and kerbs, abrasive materials including roof tiles and sandstone, and asphalt-based materials. The under cut protected segment design supports controlled wear behaviour when cutting abrasive surfaces, helping to maintain stable cutting performance across varied site conditions.

The D18 is not suitable for metal cutting. It should not be specified for exposed steel, RSJs, rebar, or metal pipe, and should be used within its intended multi-purpose concrete and abrasive application range.
For these materials we would recommend a blade more specific to those materials. Browse our OTEC diamond blades category.

Under cut protected segment design helps reduce steel core erosion during abrasive cutting
Supports controlled and predictable cutting behaviour across mixed materials
Suitable for sites where material type changes frequently during the same task
Maintains consistent performance under regular professional use
Developed for reliable operation on UK construction and infrastructure sites

Before use

Ensure the blade type and specification are suitable for the material being cut. Inspect the blade for cracking, segment detachment, undercutting of the steel core, uneven wear, or other defects. Confirm correct rotation direction and bore compatibility with the machine spindle. Wear appropriate PPE and ensure guards are correctly fitted.

During use

Do not apply excessive force when cutting. Allow the blade to cut at its designed speed and take regular cooling breaks. If overheating occurs, reassess material suitability. A blunt blade may be refreshed by cutting a soft abrasive material such as brick or block. Ensure the material being cut is firmly secured and frequently inspect the blade for damage.

Wet cutting

If wet cutting is used, ensure a continuous and adequate water supply to both sides of the blade.

Is the D18 suitable for reinforced concrete?
Yes. Reinforced and hard unabrasive concrete are primary application areas for the D18.

Can this blade be used for abrasive materials?
Yes. The under cut protected segment design supports controlled cutting on abrasive materials such as roof tiles and sandstone.

Is the D18 suitable for asphalt cutting?
Yes. Asphalt and related materials fall within the intended multi-purpose application range.

Can the D18 be used for metal cutting?
No. The D18 is not suitable for metal, exposed steel, or rebar.
