Who Is This For
The NLG Ascent Bucket is used across construction, energy, and utilities sectors by teams working at height where tools and materials need to be transported to the work zone and secured throughout the task. How to Use
Step 1: Place all tools and materials inside the bucket. Attach any tools requiring individual tethering to the internal D-ring anchor points using appropriate tool lanyards rated to the tool weight and not exceeding 5kg per anchor point.
Step 2: Close the roll-top closure by rolling a minimum of three times before connecting the compression buckle. Then press the top down to compress and seal fully.
Step 3: Attach the tension strap to the top of the closure and tension until firm.
Step 4: Check all closures are secured and confirmed before initiating any lift or lower.
Step 5: Always use the orange lifting handle for hoisting. Never use the black carry handle for lifting operations. Lifting points are always marked orange on NLG Ascent Bags.
Step 6: After each use, scan the NLG ID tag to log the inspection record against the product's unique serial number.
Common Mistakes

Rolling the closure fewer than three times: the roll-top provides inversion security only when rolled a minimum of three times. Fewer rolls allow the closure to open under inversion.

Using the black carry handle for lifting: the orange handle is the load-rated lifting point. The black handle is for ground transport only.

Exceeding the 5kg per anchor point limit: each internal anchor point and each daisy chain point is rated to 5kg individually. Attaching heavier tools to a single anchor risks failure.

Skipping pre-use inspection: the NLG Inspection Checklist must be completed before each use. Following any drop event, quarantine immediately and do not return to service until inspected.

Storing with wet contents sealed inside: wet rope and materials left in a closed bucket without ventilation accelerate fabric degradation. Drain, open, and air-dry after every use.
Safety
The Ascent Bucket is certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2023 and carries CE and UKCA marking. It is load tested at a 7:1 static and 2:1 dynamic safety factor. Always use the orange handle for hoisting. Each internal anchor point and daisy chain attachment is rated to 5kg maximum. The overall load limit is 100kg. Comply with the Working at Height Regulations 2005 and LOLER 1998 for all lifting operations. The bucket must not be used to lift personnel under any circumstances.
Maintenance
Inspect all fabric, stitching, anchor points, closures, and the lifting handle before each use. Clear the drainage hole in the base panel of debris. Rinse in clean water after exposure to mud, concrete residue, or salt water. Air-dry fully before storing. Store away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and solvents. Retire from service immediately if any anchor point, handle, fabric, or closure shows visible wear, cuts, or structural damage. Log all inspections against the unique serial number via the NLG ID system.
