The NLG BiLock Velcro Anchor is used by scaffolders, harness-wearing construction operatives, maintenance engineers, and arborists who need a certified 3kg-rated tether point on surfaces that a slide-on belt loop anchor cannot reach, scaffold rails, harness chest straps, tool vests, and belts of any width. It is particularly suited to operatives who move frequently between working positions and need to reposition their anchor point without removing their belt or harness, and to operatives who also carry a mobile phone or radio and want a single component that provides both a tool anchor and a device docking point.

How to use
Step 1: Inspect the anchor before every use. Check the Velcro bands for delamination, contamination, or loss of grip. Check the welded D-ring for deformation. Check the contrast stitching for fraying. Retire immediately if any defect is found.
Step 2: Peel open both Velcro bands fully.
Step 3: Wrap the innermost band around the attachment point, belt, harness strap, or rail, making firm contact between the Velcro and the surface.
Step 4: Wrap the second band over the first in the opposite direction. Press the Velcro firmly into full engagement. Tug the anchor to confirm it is locked and does not shift or peel.
Step 5: Confirm the D-ring hangs freely below the attachment point. Attach the rated lanyard to the D-ring and confirm the connector is fully engaged.
Step 6: To dock an NLG Phone Case or Radio Pouch, press the device pouch's Velcro surface against the anchor's Velcro pad when the anchor is attached with the pad facing outward.
Step 7: After use, peel both bands open and remove. Inspect the Velcro pad and bands before storage.
Common mistakes

Engaging only one of the two Velcro bands: the BiLock mechanism requires both bands to be wrapped and embedded for the counter-tensioning geometry to function. A single-band attachment provides standard Velcro resistance only.

Attaching to a smooth or non-textile surface: Velcro requires a surface with texture or fibres to grip. Smooth metal rails, painted surfaces, and smooth plastic will not engage the Velcro hooks reliably.

Not pressing the Velcro firmly into full engagement: the band must be pressed flat against the surface, not just positioned. Run a thumb firmly along the full length of both bands after wrapping.

Exceeding the 3kg system load: the anchor limits the system to 3kg regardless of the lanyard rating. Confirm tool weight before tethering.

Using the anchor on a fall arrest application: this is a tool retention anchor only. The D-ring must not be used for any personal fall protection purpose.
Safety
Certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2023, NS 9611:2022+AC, CE and UKCA, dynamically load tested at a 2:1 safety factor. Maximum system load is 3kg (6.6lbs). This is a tool retention anchor only, it must not be used as a personal fall arrest anchor, fall restraint anchor, or work positioning anchor. After any dynamic load event, remove from service and carry out a formal inspection by a competent person before reuse. Velcro performance degrades if contaminated with concrete dust, oil, or fibres, clean both bands after exposure to maintain grip.
Maintenance
Check the Velcro hook and loop surfaces before every use. Remove any debris, concrete dust, or fibre contamination using a stiff brush. Velcro grip degrades with repeated use and contamination, test the hold on the intended surface before deploying at height. Wipe the webbing and D-ring with a damp cloth after use. Do not immerse in chemical solutions or expose to solvents. Store away from direct sunlight and heat. Record formal inspections against the serial number.
