How to use

Step 1: Charge the device fully before first use using the included USB magnetic cable connected to a certified 5V, 1A USB power source. The LCD display shows charging progress. Use only the supplied cable and a CE-marked or equivalent certified charger.

Step 2: Download the free Dustlight app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (search "Dustlight"), or access the web app at app.dustlight.com. Create a free account using your name and email address.

Step 3: Connect the app to the device via Bluetooth. On first connection, select United Kingdom as the country of operation. Reconfigure the limit values to match the relevant EH40 Workplace Exposure Limit for your specific dust type before deploying on a UK site. The device arrives preset with German TRGS 900 thresholds, which do not correspond to UK WELs.

Step 4: Select the material configuration relevant to your working environment from the available options in the app: general dust, silica, wood dust, welding fumes, or another available configuration.

Step 5: Press and hold the side button for at least 2 seconds to switch the device on. Wait 30 seconds for the first stable measurement reading to appear on the display.

Step 6: Attach the device close to the breathing zone using the included clip or a Klick Fast accessory. Breast pocket or chest strap position is recommended. The air inlet on the front of the device must face outward and must never be obstructed by clothing, PPE straps, or equipment at any time.

Step 7: Monitor normally throughout the shift. Green indicates concentrations are below the warning threshold. A single beep and amber display signal that the warning threshold has been reached and preventive action should be considered. Three rapid beeps and a red display signal that the configured limit value has been exceeded and immediate action is required.

Step 8: After each shift, sync the device to the app to store and review the measurement record. Export data as a CSV file for COSHH documentation or inclusion in site health and safety records.

The device is not certified for use in potentially explosive or flammable atmospheres and must not be operated where combustible gases, vapours, or dust clouds may be present. It is not a medical device and must be kept at a safe distance from sensitive medical equipment in clinical environments. Maintenance
