NLG Phone Harness Kit - Harness and Mini Coil Lanyard

Who is this for

How to use

Step 1: Inspect both the Phone Harness and Mini Coil Lanyard before fitting. Check silicone cradles for cracking or deformation, and the lanyard coil and carabiner for damage or deformation.

Step 2: Position the white silicone cradle over the top two corners of the phone, with the Rivertex webbing spine running down the back of the device.

Step 3: Stretch the webbing spine down the back of the phone and hold in place with a thumb.

Step 4: Stretch the green silicone cradle over the bottom two corners of the phone until both cradles seat securely.

Step 5: Connect the Mini Coil Lanyard to the central D-ring on the Phone Harness and confirm the connection is secure.

Step 6: Attach the lanyard carabiner to a rated anchor point on your harness, belt loop, or wrist band, and confirm that connection before beginning work at height.

Step 7: If the white silicone partially obstructs the camera, adjust its position slightly. The offset design allows minor repositioning without compromising retention.

Common mistakes

• Connecting the lanyard carabiner to an unrated or improvised anchor point. The kit is certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2023 but the anchor point it connects to must also be independently rated.

• Using the Mini Coil Lanyard from this kit with heavier tools. The lanyard is rated to 1kg. Do not use it with tools or devices approaching or exceeding this limit.

• Assuming the kit includes an anchor point. The kit provides the harness and lanyard. A belt loop anchor, wrist band anchor, or equivalent rated anchor point must be sourced separately.

• Returning a kit to service after a drop without quarantining and inspecting both components separately. Either component may be damaged even if the other appears intact.

Safety

This kit is certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2023, CE and UKCA marked. System maximum rated load is 0.5kg. The Mini Coil Lanyard is rated to 1kg independently but must not be used to tether any device heavier than the system maximum of 0.5kg when connected to the Phone Harness. A separately rated anchor point is required to complete the tethering system. This kit is not a fall arrest device. After any drop event involving either component, quarantine both and inspect using the NLG Inspection Checklist before returning either to service.

Maintenance

Inspect both components before each use. Check the silicone cradles for cracking, tearing, or deformation; check the lanyard coil, swivel, and carabiner for distortion, corrosion, or damage. Clean with a damp cloth. Store both components away from heat, solvents, and direct sunlight. Scan the NLG ID tag on each component to access inspection checklists and log records individually. Retire either component from service immediately if any sign of degradation is visible.
