How to use
Step 1: Identify and prepare the anchor surface for the Mini Adhesive D Ring. The surface must be clean, dry, and flat. Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or similar surface preparation fluid and allow to dry completely before application.
Step 2: Peel the 3M adhesive backing from the Mini Adhesive D Ring and press it firmly into position. Apply consistent pressure for at least 30 seconds. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before applying any load. 3M adhesives reach full bond strength after 24 to 72 hours depending on surface temperature and material.
Step 3: Release the holster spring toggle and move the bungee cords to one side. Insert the radio into the holster and position the bungee cords to pass over the top controls.
Step 4: Slide the spring toggle up the bungee cords to trap the radio. Test that the radio is firmly retained before proceeding.
Step 5: Attach the Mini Coil Lanyard to the holster D-ring and confirm the connection is secure.
Step 6: Connect the lanyard carabiner to the Mini Adhesive D Ring anchor point.
Step 7: Secure the holster rear mount to a harness loop, belt, or suitable attachment point in the preferred orientation.
Step 8: Check all three connection points before beginning work at height.
Common mistakes

Applying the adhesive D ring without adequate surface preparation. A dirty, damp, or coated surface will reduce adhesion and may result in premature bond failure under load. Prepare the surface correctly before application and allow full cure time.

Applying load to the adhesive D ring before it has fully cured. The 3M adhesive requires time to reach full bond strength. Apply the day before deployment, not immediately before ascending.

Failing to check all three connection points before beginning work. Each junction in the system (holster toggle, lanyard to holster D-ring, lanyard to adhesive anchor) must be confirmed secure independently.

Returning any component to service after a drop without inspection. A drop event may damage any of the three components, including the adhesive bond, without visible external evidence.
Safety
The Radio Holster (NLG101418) is certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2023, CE, UKCA, and NS 9611:2022+AC, rated to 1kg. The Mini Coil Lanyard (NLG101371) is rated to 1kg. The Mini Adhesive D Ring (NLG101481) is rated to 1kg. The practical system maximum is 1kg, governed by the ratings of each component. Do not use with radios exceeding 1kg total weight. In electrical or telecoms environments, the complete tethering system must be assessed for suitability, not only the holster's non-conductive D-ring. This kit is not a fall arrest device. After any drop involving any component, quarantine that component and inspect before returning it to service.
Maintenance
Inspect all three components before each use.
Radio Holster: check bungee cords for elasticity and condition, spring toggle for positive locking action, D-ring for cracking or deformation, and ballistic outer layer for wear or damage.
Mini Coil Lanyard: check coil for kinking or loss of elasticity, carabiner for distortion or damage at the gate.
Mini Adhesive D Ring: confirm the adhesive bond is secure by applying gentle lateral pressure before connecting the lanyard. Check the D-ring attachment for deformation.
Clean all components with a damp cloth. Store away from heat, solvents, and direct sunlight. Scan NLG ID tags to log inspection records. Retire any component from service if it shows signs of degradation.
