Which NLG Tool Tethering Kit
Do You Need?
NLG produces over 20 tool tethering kits, each configured for a specific trade, tool type, or working environment. This guide covers every kit stocked at CMT Group , what each one contains, why it is built the way it is, and which one is right for your situation.
NLG's tethering system works in three steps. Step 1 is the tool-side attachment point: a loop, ring, choke, or tape that connects to the tool itself. Step 2 is the lanyard that absorbs arrest force. Step 3 is the anchor point, whether a wrist band, belt loop, harness anchor, or structural rail mount.
The kits exist to remove the component-selection process for situations where the tool type, trade, or environment is defined enough for NLG to pre-select the correct combination. All kits are third-party tested and certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2023.
Single-Tool Kits
Configured for one specific tool type. The correct attachment method for a hammer is fundamentally different from that for a screwdriver or steelfixer's nips. These exist as separate products because the tool-specific engineering matters.

Hammer Tool Tethering Kit
NLG101554
Three-component kit for claw hammers, club hammers, and mallets at height. The Tether Loop passes through the captive hole at the end of the handle. The Medium Duty Bungee Lanyard absorbs the arrest force of a dropped hammer. The Hammer Holster's cradle arm system provides a dedicated docking position between strikes, preventing the hammer swinging loose against the operative's leg or catching on harness webbing throughout a shift.

Screwdriver Tool Tethering Kit

Three-component kit solving the rotating shaft problem. The NLG Spin Tether clamps around the shaft (4-9mm diameter) and rotates freely as the tool turns, keeping the lanyard untangled regardless of rotations made. Non-conductive and non-metallic construction makes it suitable near live circuits. The Short Coil Lanyard contracts to minimal length at rest. Also fits allen keys within the shaft diameter range.

Spanner Tool Tethering Kit

Two-component kit for ring and combination spanners. The Tether Ring Medium (25mm) threads through the ring end of a standard spanner creating a rated attachment point without drilling or modifying the tool. The Extended Bungee Lanyard provides 2m of reach, suited to bag work and overhead fastening where a shorter lanyard would be under constant tension before the spanner reaches the work.

Nips Tool Tethering Kit

Four-component kit built specifically for steelfixer's nips. Nips rotate continuously during the twist-and-cut motion of rebar tying, winding any fixed tether tight within a few ties. The 360 D-Ring Locking Loop swivels freely as the nips rotate, keeping the lanyard at consistent working length. A Tool Holster docks the nips between individual ties without disconnecting the tether.

Heavy Duty Power Tool Tethering Kit

The Tether Choke Single Arm loops around the tool housing's natural waist section , no captive hole required. The 10 Tool and 25 Tool kits provide tool-side attachment components only. They do not include lanyards or anchor points.
